It’s now official. The Buffalo Sabres are streaking.

For the second time in five days, the Sabres visited the Bell Centre in Montreal and for the second time in five days, the Sabres left with two valuable points.

Buffalo came into Montreal after defeating the Toronto Maple Leafs in a shootout this past Thursday. That bumped Buffalo up in the standings, leaving them just four points out of a playoff spot. That’s incredible.  Continue reading Sabres – Canadiens Recap

Sabres – Maple Leafs Recap

159852634_slideFollowing their 5-2 stomp out win against the Flyers, the Sabres traveled 98 miles to face their rivals, the Toronto Maple Leafs.

Toronto was coming into the game with fresh legs, not playing since opening day on Saturday. The Leafs were also coming into last night’s game with a win already under their belts. Saturday afternoon the Leafs went into Montreal and defeated the Canadiens 2-1.

The Maple Leafs would control most of the play in the opening period.

Through eight minutes of play in the first, the Maple Leafs outshot Buffalo 11-0. Toronto’s dominance would come to an immediate halt when Cody Hodgson planted himself in front of Leafs net minder Ben Scrivens.  Continue reading Sabres – Maple Leafs Recap
